Dr. Jesamyn Fuscardo DO
Dr. Jesamyn Fuscardo was born and raised in the Ohio Valley and is proud to serve the community she calls home. She has dreamed of opening her own business with her father since the early years of her career.
Dr. Fuscardo attended Marshall University, where she earned her B.S. in Biomedical Science with a minor in Sociology in 2007.
She then attended West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, where she earned her Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine in 2011 and remains a lifetime alumni member. She completed her Emergency Medicine Residency in 2015 at Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, West Virginia. During her residency, Jesamyn moonlighted with TeamHealth at Weirton Medical Center. She became board certified in Emergency Medicine in 2016. Dr. Fuscardo then continued to work as an Emergency Medicine Staff Physician and later served as Assistant Medical Director at WMC Emergency Department. She was proud to work alongside her father, who served as Director for over 30 years.
Since 2017, Dr. Fuscardo has been a Clinical Assistant Professor in Emergency Medicine at WVSOM. During her tenure a Weirton Medical Center, Dr. Fuscardo served on several different committeees, including the End of Life Care Committee, which she created and chaired. With support from B & H County Family Resource Network, Jesamyn founded MOMance, a Community-based women’s group, in 2023. Dr. Fuscardo received the Intern of the Year award in 2011-2012 and was Co-Chief EM Resident
in 2014-2015. In 2024, Jesamyn was inducted into Who’s Who in America as a lifetime member/honoree and also Continental Who’s Who. Dr. Fuscardo was also a Featured Physician/Honoree in August 2024’s Best in WV Magazine. Dr. Fuscardo holds certifications in ATLS, PALS, ACLS, as well as Advanced Stroke Life Support.
Jesamyn also authored “1-800-Nappie-Poo,” a children’s book inspired by her oldest daughter. Jesamyn is happily married to Bruce Marshall Jr. with whom she shares 3 beautiful children. She loves to cook and watch movies in her spare time and vacation with her family in Disney World.
Dr. Mitchell Fuscardo DO
Dr. Mitchell Fuscardo is a dedicated and experienced Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with over 30 years of comprehensive experience in emergency medicine and hospital leadership. As a lifelong resident of Weirton, he has served his community through medical leadership and outreach programs.
Mitchell earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1980 from Marshall University. He then went on to earn his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine in 1985 from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, where he remains a lifetime alumni member. He completed his internship at Logan General Hospital. Dr. Fuscardo served as Director of the Emergency Department at WMC for over 30 years, served on numerous committees, chaired the trauma program since its inception, and also served a term as Chief of Staff for the hospital. He was awarded Director of the Year during his career at WMC for implementing the Fast Track care program in the Emergency Department.
As a medical leader in the Weirton community, he acquired and integrated the IMPACT Concussions Screening Program for the high school’s sports teams and volunteers as the Team Physician at Brooke High School, where he helps with the emergent care needs of injured players of both teams on Friday nights. Dr. Fuscardo also initiated Free Physicals for Local Athletes, supporting the health and wellness of young athletes in the community for over 20 years.
Dr. Fuscardo is certified in ATLS, PALS, ACLS, and a certified PALS and ACLS instructor. He is happily married to Laura Fuscardo who works as a respiratory therapist. When he is not busy taking care of patients, he enjoys Italian cooking, traveling, and watching classic films. He is also a devoted grandparent, enjoying time with his grandchildren.
Ceirra Zeigler, PA-C, CAQ-EM
Ceirra is a board-certified physician assistant who graduated magna cum laude from West Liberty University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, followed by her Master of Physician Assistant Studies. She has eight years of experience in emergency medicine and practiced at WVU Weirton Medical Center, where she has served as the Lead Physician Assistant for the past three years, helping manage the department.
Born and raised in Weirton, West Virginia, Ceirra has trained her entire career under Drs. Mitchell and Jesamyn Fuscardo. She is passionate about acute care medicine and holds an additional certification of added qualifications in emergency medicine, with particular expertise in suturing and procedural care. Above all, she is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to the community that raised her and is proud to continue serving alongside the Fuscardos in her hometown.
Outside of medicine, Ceirra enjoys spending time with her four-year-old son and her fur baby.
